Guilt and Honor

And so I smiled
The knight in shining armour
Waits , somewhere in tomorrow’s unseen story
And two hands warm and gentle
Just like my mother’s touch
Would lap me up and caress
Before all that blood and gory …
I look behind
The monsters of a past dark and grim
chase a dream that I had once seen
I sigh
A race against time, I have been
running and failing each time
falling into an endless pit
in a sea of tears and grime…
I look up
The dark cloud twists into a grimace
A storm breathes in its womb
I fear
In the farthest horizons
A nest that sways in the unfriendly winds
a life that lie in deep slumber in its heart
Could be blown over
Washed away, wiped clean
in an imminent downpour…
I look within
I see his evil grin
His eyes glowering with rage
His heart thumping and his clutch waits
I flutter my wings but shackled are my feet
I realise
I must reap as I sowed
The waves I once rode
Are the tides now that cannot abate
I wail
as he grips my soul, I choke and faint…
But I know
A hope in its shining glory
Waits , somewhere in tomorrow’s unseen story
her two hands warm and gentle
Just like my mother’s touch
Would lap me up and never let crumble
Before all that blood and gory
Yes I know
The tiny rays of sunshine
through the darkness, a smile divine
would warm my heart up
let my life flood in a joy pristine
Yes I know
Within me too, lives another self
Untouched, unscathed
Who can soar up new horizons
Unbound, untrapped !
