Mother

On this day, two years back, the stars up above conspired to take a soul away from me, who was the reason I was, I am and I will be.

Life, since then, each day, has taught me to move on.. and I learnt it rather quick..What I also realised is  that there will be empty, vacuous corners in your heart where if you tread along, you will be filled with a joy so divine yet a pain so deep to rupture your heart ..and you must move on.

I miss you Bou, my mother, my reason for being.

How would you describe your mother ?

Many years back one afternoon, I sat by her, looking at her tired eyes that never failed to twinkle at my sight and the gentle caress of her old frail hands, I realised, a mother is probably beyond words..

I saw her everywhere around me, in every form..

Presenting here an old poetry of mine dedicated to Mother, hope you take time to read along and hope you feel your mother in each of the five elements of nature that constitute us, nurture us and are the very basis of life on earth..

Miss you Bou..

Sky

Open arms beckon

Oh those twinkling stars

In two budding eyes

Find solace

In one warm embrace..!

Vast yet within reach,

Flows from thy loving heart

The shower of love and life,

Before the senses beseech… !

Air

A sweet fragrance lingers on

Long after you’re gone..

An unseen touch

of a placid lullaby

Paints dreams of colours abandon

A life you blow your own self

Each breath hence you own ..

Fire

A burning hope

A gleaming desire

A puff of smoke becomes

The pebbles on the path

They eyes that soothe and assuage

can blaze in wrath ..!

Water

Pure and pious ripples

Of a softness untouched

A flow unhurdled

A bond beyond name and form

You flow from eternity to

forever …!

Earth

A journey from a glowing dawn

To a sombre pyre,

Mute eyes in blood tears

bear pain to meet despair ..

Subhendu, this is just wonderful to read your heart & mind through this poetry on BOU/MOTHER, after many attempts also tears are not stopping from my eyes…

Nice one Subhendu. Really touched by reading this. You have given words to feelings of those who can’t always cry their heart in this busy life. I miss my mother too. God Bless You.
